Bloggers

Hello all!

10722_129863447277_54414_n

Believe it or not I’m actually the person in this picture, I say that not because I am admiring myself but because this picture has been used world wide to promote dParties, airlines, etc. none with out my permission.

I am so excited to finally join WordPress so I can share with the world everything that is going on inside this head of mines! My name is Lulete( Lul-eat) I am a third year Political Science student at the University of Minnesota, born in Ethiopia and raised in St. Paul! If you know me, you know that women, rights, and justice are always in my vocabulary. I love good people and good food, even better good food with good people. I am not going to go into detail of my life because I am sure my story will tell its self through my blog posts. Here is a video I wrote three years ago about my first year in college, just a bit into my life. Enjoy.

PS Work with me with grammatical errors on this blog, sometimes I get so passionate about what I want to say, I forget to slow down and correct;)

Hello I am a young girl born to a Ugandan mother and a mixed (West Indian and Latino) father. I just wanted to say thank you for your blog. As I have grown I have become more and more interested in my mother’s heritage and what being African girl in America is like. You are making East Africans women proud. Thank you.

http://thefeministwire.com/2013/04/poetic-justice-drake-and-east-african-girls/ I think that this article by a Somali student at the U of M should be highlighted some way by your blog. A lot of the points that she makes are often not discussed in the East African community.
